Bali Jip, Ubud: Korean BBQ Worth Booking (2026 Review)

A proper Korean BBQ spot where you grill at the table. The move is the parrillada special — a generous BBQ set that already comes with plenty of sides. You can add more, but you won’t need to.

Why it's on the list

Korean BBQ is all about the ritual: a grill in the middle of the table, meat sizzling, a spread of small side dishes, and everyone cooking and sharing at once. Bali Jip gets that ritual right. The meat is good quality, the sides (banchan) are plentiful, and the retro, nostalgic décor makes it feel like a night out rather than just dinner.

What to order

Order the parrillada special, the house BBQ set. It's a generous selection of meats for the grill, and it already comes with plenty of sides. You can add appetizers or extra side dishes, but honestly you don't need to — the set is enough, and over-ordering is the most common mistake here.

If you're a group, one set per two or three people is a sensible starting point; you can always add more meat once you see the portions.

Atmosphere and service

Lively and social. It's at its best with a group of friends, but works for couples and solo diners too. Staff will help with the grill if you're new to Korean BBQ.

Good to know

  • Table grills mean you'll leave smelling of BBQ. Don't wear your best outfit.
  • On busy evenings tables fill up, so it's worth booking ahead, especially for groups.
  • Jl. Raya Sanggingan is the main road heading north-west out of central Ubud — a short ride by scooter or car, not a pleasant walk at night.
  • Check current opening times on the restaurant's own channels before you go.
