How we choose what goes on Ubud Local, how information is checked, and what happens when something is wrong.
Every recommendation is visited
Every place recommended on Ubud Local — attractions, day trips and restaurants — is visited in person before it is listed. Recommendations reflect our own judgement of quality and value.
Verified facts only
- Entry fees, prices and opening hours are published only once they have been verified.
- If a fact can't be confirmed, it is left out rather than estimated.
- Approximate figures, such as typical daily cash needs or transfer prices, are labelled as approximate.
- Things change quickly in Bali. Always check opening times with a venue before making a special trip.
Dates on every page
Each page shows a "last checked" date. It changes only when the page has actually been reviewed, not when the site is rebuilt or redesigned. A year in a page title means the page was reviewed that year.
Use of AI tools
AI writing tools may be used to help draft or restructure pages. Every page is reviewed, edited and fact-checked by a person before it is published, and recommendations are never generated by AI. Facts that can't be verified are removed.
Reviews and ratings
We don't publish star ratings or scores for restaurants or attractions, and we don't reproduce customer reviews. Each page explains in words why a place is on the list and who it suits.
Corrections
If you find an error, email ubudlocal@gmail.com with the page and what needs changing. Corrections are checked and, if confirmed, the page is updated and its "last checked" date changes.
